The Supreme Court has issued key directions on the Gnanavapi Mosque, which is causing a stir across the country. Gnanavapi mosque seeking to give stay on videography survey Anjuman Intezamia Masjid’s petition was heard. Meanwhile, the Hindu Sena has filed another petition against the stay petition. After hearing the arguments of both the parties recently, the Supreme Court issued key directions.

The Supreme Court has commented that we should wait for the completion of the first trial in the Varanasi court. The Varanasi District Magistrate has directed to provide protection to the area where the Shivalingam was found. The Supreme Court similarly ordered that Muslims be allowed to pray. Issued orders that all factions should strike a balance. The next hearing was adjourned to May 19. The apex court has issued notices to Hindu petitioners and the UP government challenging the petition filed by Anjuman Intezamia Masjid seeking stay. Ordered to respond by May 19th.

Meanwhile, the Varanasi court heard the Gnanavapi survey. The court gave two days to submit the survey report. The court dismissed survey commissioner Ajay Mivra for disclosing details rather than completing the survey report. The court found that Ajay Mishra’s associates had leaked the report to the media. The Varanasi court has ordered a video survey of the Jnanavapi mosque from May 14-16. On May 17 the report ordered the court to proceed. However, when news came that a Shiva lingam had been found in the mosque’s vajukhana, the court commissioners asked for more time to submit the report. On the other hand, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board held an urgent meeting on current affairs. It is learned that discussions will be held on issues like Jnanavapi Masjid and Jamia Masjid.
