Indian Government holds all party meeting on Sri Lanka crisis: An all party meeting was held on Tuesday on Sri Lanka’s economic crisis. MPs from all parties attended the meeting led by External Affairs Minister Jaishankar. Jaishankar explained the current situation in Sri Lanka to the MPs. National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, DMK leader TR Balu, MDMK leader Vaiko, ADMK leader Thambidurai, Congress leader P. Chidambaram, Vijayasai Reddy from YSRCP and MPs from other parties were present.

Earlier on Sunday, in a meeting held before the Parliament session, the Tamil parties DMK and AIADMK requested India to intervene in the Sri Lankan crisis. Tamil parties have expressed concern over the situation of the Tamil population in Sri Lanka and the possibility of an increase in the number of refugees entering the state. Tamil Nadu CM Stalin expressed concern about the situation of Tamil people in Sri Lanka to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar in a recent meeting. CM Stalin asked the Center to send relief materials during the Sri Lankan crisis.

India offered $3.8 billion in aid to Sri Lanka during the crisis. No country has helped Sri Lanka during the crisis.. India is providing help to Sri Lanka. India has already provided basic necessities, fuel, fertilizers and medicines to Sri Lanka. The value of these is 1.5 billion dollars. The government there is already asking India to help them. The cricketers there are praising India for standing by their side in times of crisis, calling India bigger than Sri Lanka. Finally the dragon nation China also praised India’s help. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s presidential election is going to be held tomorrow. Sri Lanka is facing an economic crisis unlike anywhere else in the past seven decades. Last Sunday, Sri Lanka completed 100 days of protests and agitations.
