Ramdas Athawale: Sanjay Raut is the cause of Shiv Sena split

Ramdas Athawale: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale blamed Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for the party split. He said that Uddhav Thackeray had allied with NCP as per Raut’s wish. He revealed that it was not Sharad Pawar who broke the Shiv Sena, but Uddhav Thackeray decided to go with the Nationalist Congress Party at the behest of Sanjay Raut. The Union Minister said that if Shiv Sena and NCP had not come together, there would have been BJP and Shiv Sena governments in Maharashtra.

Athawale said that if Shiv Sena and NCP had not come together, the Maha Vikas Aghadi would never have been formed and hence the BJP and Shiv Sena government would not have been formed in Maharashtra. Earlier, former Maharashtra minister Ramdas Kadam accused NCP chief Sharad Pawar of breaking Shiv Sena and systematically weakening Pawar’s party. Shiv Sena chief’s son NCP, Congress Ramdas Athawale said that sitting with ministers is not acceptable to any of us and if Eknath Shinde had not taken this step, the Sena would not have even had 10 MLAs. After working in the party for 52 years, he was finally removed from the post. He said that he would thank the MLAs who stood by Eknath Shinde.

Responding to this, Athavale said that when Shiv Sena went with NCP, it was against Balasaheb Uddhav Thackeray’s decision.
