Polavaram project deadline extended: The central government made a key announcement in the Parliament regarding the Polavaram project, the lifeline of the people of AP. The center said that the construction of the Polavaram project was not completed within the deadline. With this, it has been revealed that the Polavaram construction deadline is being extended. The central government has announced that the construction deadline of Polavaram project has been extended till July 2024 as it was not completed within the deadline. To this extent, TDP MP Kanakamedala’s question in the Rajya Sabha was answered in written form by Minister of State for Water Power Bisweshwar Tudu.

Union Minister Bisweshwar Tudu said that 77 percent of the head works, 93 percent of the right canal works and 72 percent of the left canal works have been completed so far. He mentioned that the Polavaram Project Authority has appointed a committee in November 2021. He said that the committee which has studied all aspects will give a report in 2022. Union Minister Bisweshwar Tudu said that the committee suggested to extend the construction deadline of the project till June 2024. Minister Ambati Rambabu also made important comments on the construction deadline of Polavaram today. Minister Ambati Rambabu has clarified that it is not possible to say when the construction of Polavaram will be completed. The project will be completed only in phases.
