But for a long time, women cricketers have been demanding that they should be paid at par with men. Many former cricketers are also supporting them. New Zealand Cricket Board has recently taken a step in that direction. The New Zealand board has started to pay equal wages to women and men cricketers. The New Zealand Cricket Board and the Players’ Association on Tuesday signed an agreement to give equal pay to both categories of cricketers for five years. This Agreement applies to all formats and competitions. As a result, women cricketers will get the same salary as male cricketers.
