Maharashtra: A blow to Uddhav Thackeray in the Supreme Court

Uddhav Thackeray faced a strong backlash in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court said no to the urgent hearing on the disqualification petition. The Supreme Court rejected the urgent hearing on the petition filed by Uddhav Thackeray to hunt down 16 MLAs of CM Ek Nath Shinde’s faction. Ordered to maintain status quo in Maharashtra. The Solicitor General was directed to inform the Speaker not to take any decision on the 16 MLAs who are facing disqualification.

Chief Justice NV Ramana in the context of the investigation of the case. Along with the disqualification of 16 MLAs, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction also filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the election of the Speaker, appointment of the Chief Whip and formation of the government. Now it seems that the Shinde community has got a big relief with the decision of the Supreme Court.

On the verdict of the Supreme Court, MP Sanjay Raut said that the petition filed in the Supreme Court is not about the survival of the Shinde government. It is about the survival of democracy. He stated that this is a big test for the judicial system. Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray has called a meeting of MPs at his residence ‘Mato Sri’ today at 12 noon. Uddhav Thackeray wrote letters to 15 MLAs for supporting him. Thank you for standing by him in difficult situations. He stated in the letter that he will not yield to any offers or pressures.
