Neeraj Chopra won a silver medal in the recently held World Athletics Championship. He threw the javelin 88.13 meters and gave India a medal. This is only the second medal for India in the 46-year history of the World Athletics Championships. It is remarkable that Neeraj Chopra was the first Indian athlete to win the medal while the female athlete won the medal in the men. In 2003, in the World Athletics Championship held in Paris, female athlete Anju Babi George won the bronze medal in the long jump category. But Neeraj Chopra himself told the media that he faced tough conditions in the final of that tournament. He mentioned that he felt trouble in his legs while running. He explained that the thigh muscles were seized. But everyone thought that Neeraj Chopra would recover soon and play the Commonwealth Games.
