Bharat Bandh: Nationwide bandh tomorrow against Agneepath

‘Agneepath’ flames are burning in the country. The new Army recruitment scheme brought by the Center has received a strong response from Army hopefuls. Concerns are being raised in many parts of the country. The flames of anger that started in the state of Bihar are slowly spreading across the country. Violence has already taken place in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. With the advent of the Agneepath scheme with a term of just four years, many candidates are worried and outraged.

Protesters against the Agneepath project have called for a ‘Bharat Bandh’ on June 18 tomorrow. Concerned youths in Bihar have called for a bandh. The RJD has declared support for the bandh. Other opposition parties are also expected to announce their support.

Meanwhile, angry protesters are targeting the railways in particular. Railway properties were vandalized in several parts of Bihar yesterday. Several trains were set on fire. Protesters set fire to railway tracks. Similar protests were repeated at the Secunderabad railway station today. A young man was killed in a police shooting. The internet was shut down across Haryana to prevent further riots.

Opposition parties have been criticizing the central government and the BJP over the Agneepath scheme. Opposition parties have accused the BJP of privatizing the army. Rahul Gandhi commented that the youth were rejecting the Agneepath scheme. Tweets were made blaming the BJP. On the other hand, non-NDA opposition parties are also blaming the BJP decision. They are demanding to bring back the existing recruitment system.
