B. Vinod Kumar : Letter from Boinapalli Vinod Kumar to Amit Shah

Former MP Vinod Kumar Letter To Union Minister Amit Shah.
Vice-Chairman of Planning Commission Boinapally Vinod has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressing strong protest against the central government’s stance that the decision on the increase of assembly seats in Telugu states will be made after 2026 i.e. after 1931. In that letter, in response to a question asked by BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nithyananda Roy said that it would not be possible as the Constitution would have to be amended, and the matter of increasing the assembly seats in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would be considered only after the census held after the year 2026. Vinod Kumar reminded that earlier it was made clear that there is no possibility of increasing assembly seats in these two Telugu states. However, Vinod Kumar explained that the revision of the census is done once every 10 years, and in this calculation, it is clear that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will have the opportunity to increase the assembly seats only on the basis of the census after the year 1931, and the term after 2026 has become obsolete in the words of Union Home Minister Telananda Roy. . Vinod Kumar expressed concern that the central government is discriminating against the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Vinod Kumar said that the BJP is giving slogans of one country, one law, but in reality it is acting differently, and the fact that it has not increased the assembly seats in the Telugu states is proof of that. In a letter written to the Union Home Minister, Vinod Kumar demanded that Prime Minister Modi’s government increased the assembly seats in the states of Jammu and Kashmir without amending Article 170 of the Constitution and similarly it should be implemented in the two Telugu states as well. Vinod Kumar asked the central government whether Telugu states are one justice for the states of Jammu and Kashmir but Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are another justice for the states. Vinod Kumar demanded to increase the number of Assembly seats in the Telugu states either by amending Article 170 of the Constitution or as per the special powers of the Central Government. Vinod Kumar recalled that during his tenure as Karimnagar MP, he introduced a private member’s bill to increase the number of assembly seats in Telugu states. Vinod Kumar demanded that a special bill should be introduced in the current monsoon session of the parliament to increase the number of assembly seats in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
