Amaranath Yatra: The holy pilgrimage Amarnath Yatra has broken again. The Amarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions due to heavy rains in the Kashmir valley. Amarnath holy cave is flooded due to heavy rains. Devotees were moved to a safer area as floods were coming from the mountain area. 4 thousand pilgrims have been shifted to a safe area by the authorities. Officials were alerted as it rained continuously for three hours. Heavy rains in the mountains surrounding the cave caused the reservoirs and nearby streams to overflow around 3 pm today. The authorities immediately announced an alert. So far, more than 4,000 pilgrims have been shifted to a safe area. The situation is under control, officials said.

On July 8, 15 people died and more than 40 people went missing due to floods that occurred near the Amarnath cave due to a cloud burst. Many tents were lost near the cave. Again the journey was resumed on 16th July. The 43-day annual Amarnath Yatra began on June 30 on two main routes. The Amarnath Yatra ends on August 11 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. So far, about 2 lakh 30 thousand pilgrims have visited the Manchu Linga, officials have revealed.
